What is a superscore?
A superscore combines your best section scores from different test dates. For the SAT that is your best Reading and Writing plus your best Math. For the ACT it is the average of your best section scores.
Do all colleges superscore?
No. Many colleges superscore the SAT, fewer superscore the ACT, and some want all scores from one sitting. Check each college’s testing page before you decide which scores to send.
Does the ACT science score count?
On the enhanced ACT (from spring 2025) the composite uses English, math and reading, and science is optional. For older tests that included science in the composite, turn on “Include science”.
